About Sick Scores
Signs of Inflammation in Children that can Kill (SICK score) is a new severity-of-illness score. It uses the physical signs of the Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) and its continuum - Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS).
The development of the score used multiple logistic regression model coefficients converted to integer scores that have been published earlier.
Notes About the Software
Over the course of the study we developed a number of versions of the Sick Score Calculator. If you have trouble with one, you can try another. And while the software dependencies of each of the versions vary, the formula they use to calculate the score is the same.
1. Online This online version of the software is the simplest, and will work from any modern web-browser with internet access.
2. Windows - Light You'll need to download this file to your desktop before you can run it. It's a stripped down version of the full program (ie not all the features of the full program, like exporting and importing Excel files are included). Requires Windows
3. Windows - Full This is the full program. You'll need to download and run the setup file, which installs the full Sick Score Calculator onto your computer. Be warned, it is a little flaky, and may or may not run on your system. Requires Windows
